CLM Growth

We often get questions about the gowth and impact of CLM.   Here are some charts and a table of the data that the charts display.   Several things to note:

  • There is usually more use in the fall semester than spring.  This is presumed to be the result of freshmen coming and waiting a while to buy a new computer to use in their dorm or apartment, and perhaps fall dropouts.
  • We have data for "summer" semester too; not shown here.
  • Some colleges have consolidated units over time, so a slight drop in unit participation here and there is due to that consolidation.  No participating unit has ever left CLM.
  • For a list of units and what where they have computers, see the Our Rooms page.

Numbers for the Above Charts

Logins per user and minutes per user is added here to see if the growth of participating units and computers merely causes an increase in use.  These show that how often a person logs on has remained fairly flat, but how long someone stays on has grown a bit over time.
