Technology Classroom Types

ITEC - Instructor Technology Classroom

Used for lecture-style teaching, some features include:

• Instructor podium with either a Windows, Macintosh, or Linux computer (or combination)
• Internet connection
• Plug-in capability for an instructor-supplied laptop and USB devices
• Remote/wireless mouse
• Ceiling-mounted video/data projector
• Microphone (in rooms seating more than 60)
• Audio system for multimedia presentations
• VHS/DVD combo unit
• Audio/Video Switching System
• Room lighting controls
• Help phone

PTEC - Projector-only Technology Classroom

Used for lecture-style teaching and include: 

• Ceiling-mounted video/data projector
• Plug-in capability for an instructor-supplied laptop
• Audio system for multimedia presentations

STEC - Student Technology Classroom

Offer all features present in ITEC as well as:

•  Student computer stations with a Windows, Macintosh, or Linux computer
•  Some classrooms offer individual student stations, while others offer collaborative student stations

VTEC - Videoconferecing Technology Classroom

Offer all features present in ITEC as well as videoconferencing capabilities
