Technology Classroom Types
ITEC - Instructor Technology Classroom
Used for lecture-style teaching, some features include:
- Instructor podium with either a Windows, Macintosh, or Linux computer (or combination)
- Internet connection
- Plug-in capability for an instructor-supplied laptop and USB devices
- Remote/wireless mouse
- Ceiling-mounted video/data projector
- Microphone (in rooms seating more than 60)
- Audio system for multimedia presentations
- VHS/DVD combo unit
- Audio/Video Switching System
- Room lighting controls
- Help phone
PTEC - Projector-only Technology Classroom
Used for lecture-style teaching and include:
- Ceiling-mounted video/data projector
- Plug-in capability for an instructor-supplied laptop
- Audio system for multimedia presentations
STEC - Student Technology Classroom
Offer all features present in ITEC as well as:
- Student computer stations with a Windows, Macintosh, or Linux computer
- Some classrooms offer individual student stations, while others offer collaborative student stations
VTEC - Videoconferecing Technology Classroom
Offer all features present in ITEC as well as videoconferencing capabilities
