For the Fall 2013 semester we are reviewing all installed applications and removing the ones with low usage. We are asking Faculty to review the list of the currently installed applications to ensure we do not miss a critical application required for their courses.
We have been investigating and working on the slow Mac logins that some users are experiencing. We have been working very hard to identify the root cause and solution, and we apologize for the delayed logins.
The Classroom and Lab Computing Mac team is aware of an issue with delayed login times on the Lab Macs. The issue stems from a process that scans the installed applications at user login time. As we provide many applications, this process takes longer than expected. We are currently working on a solution.
