Since the migration to the new PASS space in the summer of 2008, setting permissions via "chmod" is not available, which directly effects making scripts executable. To make scripts executable, follow the steps below. Also, here is a short movie version of the below steps: PASS Permissions
NOTE: Starting September 1st, 2017 users who connect to Learning Applications and Technologies’ Linux Cluster while off campus will need to install and use the VPN "AnyConnect" client application prior to using Linux Cluster. This change is an added security measure for those accessing resources on the Linux Cluster from outside the Penn State campus.
Here are a few guidelines for using the ITS Computer labs. A lab consultant may ask you to leave the lab if you are violating one of these guidelines. Please be considerate of others working in the labs, and keep the equipment safe.

Penn State IT have upgraded all classroom and lab computers to Windows 10 prior to the start of the fall semester. Windows 10 combines the look & feel of Windows 7 with Windows 8.1 for a more flexible, modern user interface.
