CLC Windows Lab Problem Report

Problem with the following application has been reported in the lab.

Application

Microsoft PowerPoint within Internet Explorer

Description of Problem

After "Opening" a PowerPoint document while running Internet Explorer, every time the user "clicks" to advance slides they are prompted to Open, Save, or Cancel the file.

Cause of Problem

When hlinkprx.dll is installed (for ESRI ArcExplorer), it registers itself and updates the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{79EAC9C9-BAF9-11CE-8C82-00AA004BA90B}\ProxyStubClsid32.  This value should be set back to its original value {79eac9f1-baf9-11ce-8c82-00aa004ba90b}.

Status
