Macintosh Hardware Installed In CLC Labs

For the fall 2007 semester, the CLC managed Apple Macintosh computers are running Mac OS X 10.4 (aka, "Tiger").

To find locations and hours of our Macintosh labs, please visit our Lab Hours and Locations web page.

Some of our software (Adobe Encore, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Soundbooth) will ONLY run on Intel based Macs. The location of the currently installed Intel based Macs are listed in the table below under the Mac Pro (Intel) and iMac (Intel) columns.

Labs in 215 Burrowes, 6A Findlay Commons, 15A Sparks Building, 302 Patterson, 304 Patterson, 401 Patterson, and Stuckeman 143 are used for teaching. However, they are open to the public when not reserved for classes.

Counts include the Lab Attendant workstation.

The List of Buildings page can help you find the location of buildings at University Park.

NOTES:

  • All Lab Macs should be equipped with 2 button scroll mice.
  • We manage the Macs that are used for the Digital Commons installations, which include 24" Intel Core 2 Duo iMacs with the exact same suite of applications that the University Park CLC Labs Macs have installed. These iMacs have 3 GB of RAM, 750 GB internal hard disks, 2.16 Ghz Core 2 Duo processors, and a large 24" built-in display.
  • We also have around 65 Macs installed in technology podiums that are not included in the counts listed above. These Macs consist of Mac Minis (G4/1.42 Ghz), Power Mac G5 and G5 towers. We also manage many remote 'signature stations' at University Park as well as other Penn State University campuses across the state.
  • No floppy drives are available on the CLC Lab Macintosh computers. If you need help transfering your data to more readily available network storage or other removable media, please contact the CLC Mac Team at .
