Blackberry Review, Initial Impressions
First Look
- Lot's of pieces.
- Battery compartment difficult to open, but got battery in ok to begin charging.
- Battery very difficult to get out (wanted to see SIM card).
- Can't figure out many key functions without reading the online guide; basic navigation ought to be in the printed manual.
- Easy to miss very basic functions, like clicking the track wheel, which ought to be right up front. (Ok, the tips email message is a good idea, and I should have tried that, but I really wanted to get the date/time set first.)
- Time from opening box to setting clock: almost 1 hour; that is extremely long for me. Of course, I am entering these notes as I go and had to reset my home router for some reason, so make that maybe 30 minutes).
- Scroll menu up doesn't wrap from top to bottom!?!? Argh!
Desktop Software
- No autorun.inf on CD; odd.
- Options for email unlcear; chose Exchange server for redirect.
- Should give option to copy user guide to computer.
Docking
- Serial port?! Any USB option available.
